Situated in the heart of Miami Beach, Easy’s is a modern, neighborhood restaurant celebrating the art of ease — where things are done simply, and done right. Located on the rooftop of Hotel Continental, BEYOND THE WEST designed the concept to feel both familiar and unexpectedly original, without leaning into predictably kitschy displays of nostalgia.
Inspired by the streamline architecture of Miami Beach and 1960’s European cafe culture, the design fuses styles blending traditional with the contemporary to create a universe that is both carefree and graphic. At the intimate indoor bar, reflective stainless steel accentuates figured wood wall panels; glass block catalyzes neon illumination and movement; and a playful floor pattern recalls classic diners. Cozy banquettes provide comfort and ease after a long day and accents of yellow keep the rhythm of good times high on the Miami skyline. The outdoor rooftop dining areas take a similar approach with original takes on classic patterns – stripes in idiosyncratic layouts on the awning, picnic blanket-inspired fabrics at the banquettes – mixed with quintessential deco materials, like terrazzo, in large format checkerboard paving pattern. The dining tables are a feature to the outdoor experience – durable enamel tops are decorated in classic game motifs inviting guests to gather and play.
